Diod v0.1.0.3 — Pre-alpha Settlement foundation · 21 October 2026 New: manage your first community - Awakened Mara becomes a persistent, moving worker and can leave the cryo wing through the existing bunker doorway and ladder. - Open Esc > Settlement, use the bunker console, or interact with a worker. - Designate a real basket or chest as shared storage. Supply food, tools, carrying bags, seeds and materials through the normal container interaction. - Assign following, gathering, timber cutting, tending prepared pea plots, building placed plans, and finite crafting batches. Work uses real materials, tools, inventories, construction progress, crops and production stations. - Assign bedding and maintain food. Hunger, fatigue and changing expectations affect work. Return all supplies recalls carried materials and equipment. - Create named work groups with leaders and shared assignments; group work and leadership changes persist. Known people appear on the field map without revealing unexplored terrain. Getting started Recover Mara through the existing forged-iron-pry-bar milestone. Place or finish shared storage, put supplies inside it, and designate it in Settlement. Place construction plans and prepare farm plots yourself. Keep heat stations fueled and lit for workshop batches. Return to the world after issuing assignments; management menus pause time and work. Save compatibility and updating Existing worlds, knowledge and inventories retain their save locations. Already-awakened survivors become manageable automatically. No New game is needed, and the original ten deceased occupants remain deceased. Close Diod, back up your save, download this release and replace the application (or the whole extracted Windows/Linux folder). Your save is stored separately. There is no automatic updater or cloud-save sync. Verification and platform limits The source settlement checks passed: 50 rules, 22 headless scene checks and 4 separate-process restart checks. Foundation, production, construction, farming and survival regressions passed. The exported Linux game was checked for version, save/content/Earth identity, settlement behavior and restart. Windows native icon sizes and v0.1.0.3 metadata were verified. The Mac archive contains both Apple Silicon and Intel executables; its packaged resources and version were checked using the Linux runtime. It is Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized and has the approval ticket attached. This release has not been visually playtested on a Mac or Windows PC. Windows publisher signing is not configured. Linux graphical performance is unverified. Known limits Worker navigation uses local collision avoidance and loaded work areas. Complex paths, closed doors, steep terrain or unloaded ground can block work; clear a route or use Follow. Gathering is near the shared store, and prepared plots and building/station work are within its local work area. Only Mara is currently recruitable in normal play. Groups coordinate ongoing jobs; autonomous leader planning, large populations, wages, companies and rental housing are future systems. Prototype character/prop art, balance and known landscape/water issues remain. This is a pre-alpha, not a finished civilisation simulation. https://diod.world
