Diod v0.1.0.30 — Planned earthworks - Surface terraforming is now a planned project: press G, draw a rectangle or editable polygon, preview the target and mark it out before working. - Choose Raise, Lower, Level or a ramp. Saved target heights control both the preview and the final terrain; each shovel or pickaxe strike works only nearby unfinished ground. - Raising ground requires delivered soil. Cutting leaves optional loose soil, rock or eligible ore pickups. Fill credit and fractional spoil persist, preventing free terrain or tiny-cut material duplication. - Inspect projects to deliver supplies, pause/resume or cancel. Cancellation retains worked ground and returns whole unused fill units as loose pickups. Buildings, mine roofs and water levels remain protected. - Existing worlds retain their terrain, mining, buildings, inventory and workers. A complete before-earthworks backup precedes the save-format upgrade. Mining sites keep their separate underground workflow. UPDATING Continue your existing game; no New Game required. Save format 9 creates a full before-earthworks backup. Do not downgrade the upgraded run. Close the game before replacing the entire application or extracted folder. CONTROLS G → Plan terrain. Click two rectangle corners or draw a polygon; drag corners to edit. Set height, ramp rise and edge blending. Confirm Mark out. Return to your character, bring soil for filling, then click/hold with a shovel or pickaxe over unfinished ground. E at a stake manages the project; E collects loose spoil. G → Mine retains mining-site excavation. NOTES - This first planner supports rectangles and editable polygons on the one-metre terrain grid, not freehand curves. Projects are limited to 24 m across, 625 edited vertices and 4 m height change; split larger jobs into projects. - The player supplies and works earthworks directly; automatic worker assignment is not implemented. One clod supplies 0.18 m³ as a gameplay abstraction. Whole unused units are refunded on cancellation. - Native gameplay validation uses an Apple M4 on Low with isolated fixture materials. Native Windows/Linux GPU, Intel Mac and laptop FPS are not tested. Windows publisher signing is not configured.
